We Don't Prune Our Vines!

At our winery, we embrace the natural cycles of the vineyard by allowing a part of our vines to grow wild, without traditional pruning. This philosophy trusts in nature's wisdom, letting each vine flourish in its own way. A significant advantage of this approach is that wild-growing vines tend to produce smaller grapes. Why does this matter? The most intense aromas and flavors of a grape are found in its skin, and smaller grapes have a higher skin-to-juice ratio. This means that wild-growing vines yield wines that are more aromatic and flavorful.

By permitting the vines to grow freely, they develop deeper root systems. This not only makes them more resilient to environmental stresses but also enables them to absorb a broader spectrum of nutrients and minerals from the soil. The result is a wine that authentically reflects the terroir—the unique characteristics of the land.

Furthermore, this restrained method promotes a natural balance within the vineyard ecosystem. Without heavy intervention, the vines adapt to their surroundings and produce fruit with pronounced complexity. Each vintage becomes a tribute to the vines' innate ability to thrive and evolve, resulting in wines with character, depth, and a strong sense of place.
